The authors solve boundary-value problems with rotational symmetry, developing a formalism of canonical forms of the respective boundary equations, using Fourier operator coefficients on the dihedral group. Applications are given to the Helmholtz equation with Dirichlet conditions on a surface of revolution and to the problem of scattering of an acoustic wave on a ball partially screened by a sphere with a hole.
