Heat invariants of Riemannian manifolds (Q1594896)

The author gives an expression of each heat invariant (= the coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of the heat kernel) in terms of the even degree powers of the metric distance function applied by the powers of the Laplacian. It is given by an application of the Agmon-Kannai method, and the author gives an application of it to the computation of the Korteweg-de Vries hierarchy.
