The author considers the space \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) with a special metric which extends the Minkowski metric. A surface in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) is called spacelike if the scalar square of each tangent vector to the surface is negative in this metric. The author obtains necessary and sufficient conditions for a surface in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) to be a boundary of some spacelike surface.
