The author makes use of a relation between spaces of \(n\)-dimensional knots and Teichmüller spaces of conformal structures on hyperbolic manifolds (or equivalently, spaces of representations of the corresponding fundamental groups), and he proves the following result: Theorem : For any nontrivial ribbon 2-knot \(K\) in \(S^4\), there exist a uniform hyperbolic lattice \(G\subset O(3,1)\) and an everywhere wild 2-knot \(K_{\infty}\subset S^4\) that is a connected sum of countably many copies of \(K\) and that admits an ergodic action of the group \(G\). The author states corollaries concerning the non-connectedness of certain Teichmüller spaces.
