    Let \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^n\), \(n\geq 2\), be an unbounded domain (not containing the origin) with a smooth boundary \(\Gamma =\Gamma _1\cup \Gamma _2\) such that \((-1)^i\sum _{m=1}^n x_m\cos(\nu,x_m)\geq 0\), \(x\in \Gamma_i, i=1,2\), where \(\nu\) is the unit normal to \(\Gamma\) outer with respect to \(\Omega\) and \(Q=(t>0)\times \Omega\). Consider the following boundary value problem: \[ u_{tt}=\Delta u,\quad (t,x)\in Q, \tag{1} \] \[ u(0,x)=f(x), u_t(0,x)=h(x), x\in {\overline \Omega}, \tag{2} \] \[ u|_{\Gamma_1}=0,\quad \biggl(\frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} + g(x)\frac{\partial u}{\partial t} \biggr)\Biggl|_{\Gamma _2}=0.\tag{3} \] The authors announce the following result. Theorem. There exists a function \(g(x)\), \(0<g(x)\leq 1\) such that the solution to problem (1)--(3) satisfies the inequalities \[ \int_{\Omega} \Biggl\{(t-r)^2(u_t-u_r)^2+(t+r)^2 [(u_t+u_r)^2+ \frac{1}{r^2}|\nabla _{\theta}u|^2] \Biggr\} dx\leq C_1(1+t), \] \[ \int_0^{\infty}\frac{dt}{(1+t)^{1+\sigma}}\int_{\Omega} \Biggl\{(t-r)^2(u_t-u_r)^2+ (t+r)^2[(u_t+u_t)^2+\frac{1}{r^2}|\nabla u_{\theta}|^2] \Biggr\} dx\leq C_2, \] where \(x=(r,\theta)\), \(|\theta|=1\), \(\sigma>0\). The constant \(C_1\) depends on \(\sup(|f|+|h|), \|f\|_{W^1_2(\Omega)}\) and \(\|h\|_{L^2(\Omega)}, C_2\) also depends on \(\sigma\). Also is studied the behavior of the solution for \(t\to \infty\) to the following equation \(u_{tt}-\Delta u=-p(x) e^{-i\omega t}\), \(t>0\), \(x\in \Omega\), satisfying the conditions (2), (3).
