    The authors obtain nontrivial solutions of the semilinear boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} -\Delta u&=f(x,u)\qquad \text{ in} \Omega,\\ u&=0\qquad \text{ on} \partial\Omega\end{aligned} \] with jumping nonlinearities that interact with the Fučik spectrum. Here \(\Omega\in {\mathbb R}^n\) is a smooth and bounded domain and \(f\in C(\overline{\Omega}\times {\mathbb R},{\mathbb R})\) satisfies \(f(x,t)=\lambda t+o(t)\) as \(t\to\infty\) with \(\lambda\not\in \alpha (-\Delta).\)
