A continuous-discrete linear system is considered, having the state-space representation \[ \frac{\partial x}{\partial t}(t,k+1)=Ax(t,k)+Cw(t,k), \qquad t\in\mathbb{R}_{+}, k\in\mathbb{Z}_{+}\leqno{(1)} \] \[ y(t,k)=Gx(t,k)+Fw(t,k)\leqno{(2)} \] where \(A\in\mathbb{R}^{n\times n}, C\in\mathbb{R}^{n\times q}, G\in\mathbb{R}^{m\times n}, F\in\mathbb{R}^{m\times q}\) and \(w(t,k)\) stands for a disturbance vector. Given a convex set \(W\in\mathbb{R}^{q}\) and two functions \(x_{1}(t)\) and \(x_{2}(k)\) with \(x_{1}(0)=x_{2}(0)\), the reachability set \(X_{t,k}\) is the set of all possible states of the system at the moment \((t,k)\) with boundary conditions \(x(t,0)=x_{1}(t), t\in\mathbb{R}_{+}\) and \(x(0,k)=x_{2}(k), k\in\mathbb{Z}_{+}\), for all possible disturbances \(w\in W\). Moreover, given an output signal \(y(t,k)\), the information domain \(D_{t,k}\) of the system (1) compatible with the output signal \(y(t,k)\) is the set of all vectors \(x\in X_{t,k}\) which satisfy \(y(t,k)=Gx+Fw\) when \(w\in W\). In some special cases, when the disturbance set \(W\) is a rectangle or an ellipsoid, the information domains are effectively described by using the support function. Otherwise, an estimation of the support function of the information domain is provided as well as an estimation of the diameter of the information domain. The proposed method of estimation is illustrated by some examples.
