Let \(T\) be a continuous linear operator on a complex Banach space \(X\). For an open subset \(U\) of the extended complex plane let \({\mathcal O}(U,X)\) denote the Fréchet space of all \(X\)-valued analytic functions on \(U\). For each closed subset \(F\) of \(\mathbb C\), let \(X_T(F)\) be the linear subspace of \(X\) consisting of those \(x\) for which there exists a function \(u\in{\mathcal O}({\mathbb C}\setminus F,X)\) with \(x=(z-T)u(z)\) for \(z\in {\mathbb C}\setminus F\). The localizable spectrum \(\sigma_{\text{loc}}(T)\) of \(T\) is the set of all points \(\lambda\in{\mathbb C}\) such \(X_T(\overline{V})\neq\{0\}\) for each open neighbourhood \(V\) of \(\lambda\). For a bounded open subset \(V\) of \(\mathbb C\) let \(H^\infty(V)\) be the Banach algebra of all bounded analytic functions on \(V\) equipped with the sup norm. A set \(M\in{\mathbb C}\) is dominating in \(V\) if \(\|f\|=\sup\{|f(z)|\colon z\in M\cap V\}\) for all \(f\in H^\infty(V)\). A compact subset \(K\) of \(\mathbb C\) is called thick if it is dominating in some non-empty bounded open set \(V\). \(\text{Lat}(T)\) the lattice of all (closed) invariant subspaces of \(T\) is rich if there exists an infinite dimensional Banach space \(Z\) such that \(\text{Lat}(T)\) contains a sublattice order isomorphic to the lattice of all closed linear subspaces of \(Z\). The main result of the paper is the following Theorem: Let \(T\) be a continuous linear operator on a complex Banach space \(X\). If \(T\) has no eigenvalues and the localizable spectrum \(\sigma_{\text{loc}}(T)\) is thick, then \(\text{Lat}(T)\) is rich. In particular from this we get the following Corollary: Let \(T\in L(X)\) be an operator on a complex Banach space \(X\). If the localizable spectrum of \(T\) or of its adjoint \(T'\) is thick, then \(\text{Lat}(T)\) is non-trivial.
