With each mixed partition of PG\((2n-1,q^2)\) into projective subspaces of rank \((n-1)\) and Baer subspaces one can associate a spread of PG\((4n-1,q)\) and hence a translation plane of order \(q^2\). Using the software package \textit{Magma}, the author has determined all mixed partitions of PG\((3,4)\). It turns out that every spread of PG\((7,2)\) arises from such a mixed partition. In general, the mixed partition is determined uniquely by the associated spread, only the derived semifield plane arises from 3 mutually nonequivalent mixed partitions.
