The paper gives a counterexample to the hypothesis that any two-valued possibility measure satisfying the countable chain condition is induced by some \(\sigma\)-finite \(\sigma\)-additive measure. Note that the hypothesis was introduced in [\textit{R. Mesiar}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 92, No. 2, 191-196 (1997; Zbl 0927.28013)]. Mentioned hypothesis is shown to be violated by a set function \(m\) defined on Borel subsets of \([0,1]\) vanishing exactly on the Borel sets of the first category. Moreover, in the paper it is shown that a two-valued possibility measure \(m\) on a measurable space \((X,{\mathcal A})\) can be introduced by means of a \(\sigma\)-finite \(\sigma\)-additive measure if and only if the quotient Boolean algebra \({\mathcal A}/m^{-1}(\{0\})\) can be made into a finite measure algebra.
