Unique solvability of the equations of motion of a mechanical system with dry friction (Q1603154)

The author studies the uniqueness of solutions to equations of motion of mechanical systems of kinematic pairs with dry friction forces. Sufficient conditions are established. It is also shown that the uniqueness is dependent upon initial values of constraint reactions. The paper is mostly theoretical but a few illustrative examples are provided. The paper is likely to be primarily of interest to theoreticians and to differential equations analysts.
