Let \(G\) be an infinite metrizable compact Abelian group and let \(\Gamma\) be its dual group. Let \(U(G)\subseteq C(G)\) denote the space of functions with uniformly convergent Fourier series. For an Orlicz function~\(\psi\) let \(L^\psi\) denote the Orlicz space associated to~\(\psi\). The authors investigate the subspaces \(C_\Lambda(G)\), \(U_\Lambda(G)\), and \(L^\psi_\Lambda(G)\), consisting of functions whose spectrum is contained in \(\Lambda\subseteq\Gamma\). They prove that finite cotypes of some of these spaces imply that \(\Lambda\) is a~Sidon set and they find some new characterizations of \(p\)-Rider sets.
