The author introduces the analog of the Riemann tensor for nonholonomic manifolds, i.e. for manifolds with a non-integrable distribution. This tensor is calculated in the cases of contact and Engel structures. These tensors can be interpreted as modifications of the Spencer cohomology. The motivation of the present research is to extend Goldschmidt's criteria for formal integrability to all differential equations. In fact, these criteria can be applied to differential equations whose symmetries are induced by point transformations. On the other hand, the symmetries of the other differential equations are induced by contact transformations.
