The author considers a four-species autonomous Lotka-Volterra-type competition system, which has been investigated numerically in the literature, and he shows that the whole four-species system collapses to a definite single species equilibrium at its carrying capacity. The approach is based on results due to \textit{M. W. Hirsch} [Nonlinearity 1, No. 1, 51-71 (1988; Zbl 0658.34024)], \textit{P. van den Driessche} and \textit{M. L. Zeeman} [SIAM J. Appl. Math. 58, No. 1, 227-234 (1998; Zbl 0910.34050)], \textit{J. Hofbauer} and \textit{K. Sigmund} [The theory of evolution and dynamical systems. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (1988; Zbl 0678.92010)], and on the product theorem of the Conley connection matrix theory by \textit{K. Mischaikow} and \textit{J. F. Reineck} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl. 23, No. 10, 1293-1314 (1994; Zbl 0818.34024)].
