Elliptic equations of fourth-order with critical exponents on compact Riemannian manifolds (Q1606258)

The author establishes a result providing some qualitative information about the best constant in the Sobolev inequality on a compact Riemannian manifold. Then an existence theorem is given for a fourth-order elliptic equation with critical Sobolev exponent. Some geometrical applications are also presented.
