Some trigonometric identities are established, using the generating function method. Typical examples are: \(\sum^{n-1}_{k=1} \tan^2({k \pi\over n})= n(n-1)\), \(\sum^{n-1}_{k=1} \tan^4({k\pi \over n})= \frac 13 n(n-1) (n^2+n-3)\). The computer algebra system maple is used to carry out the complex calculations.
