From authors' summary: We develop a method for correction of contours of two-dimensional and quasi-three-dimensional airfoils and axisymmetric bodies (engine nacelles) placed in a transonic inviscid gas flow. The method is based on simulation of a transcritical flow of a composite gas around the body. As a result, the smooth streamline that joints the sonic points of the original contour predicts a corrected contour with a shockless local supersonic zones.
