The authors consider the problem concerning the distortion of the hyperbolic Robin capacity \(\delta_h(A,\Omega)\) of a boundary set \(A\subset \partial\Omega\) under a conformal mapping of a domain \(\Omega= U\setminus E\) into the unit disk \(U= \{z:|z|< 1\}\), where \(E\subset U\) is a compact set. Now let the closed set \(A\) consist of a finite number of boundary arcs or complete boundary components being subsets of \(\partial\Omega\setminus\partial U\). Applying a result of \textit{P. Duren} and \textit{J. Pfaltzgraff} [J. Anal. Math. 78, 205-218 (1999; Zbl 0974.31001)] the authors prove the sharpness of the inequality \(\text{cap}_h f(A)\geq \delta_h(A,\Omega)\) in the class of conformal mappings \(f: \Omega\to U\) with \(f(\partial U)=\partial U\), where \(\text{cap}_hf(A)\) denotes the hyperbolic capacity of a compact set \(f(A)\subset U\). A similar result for the (usual) Robin capacity was recently established by \textit{M. D. O'Neill} and \textit{R. E. Thurman} [Complex Variables, Theory Appl. 41, No. 1, 91-109 (2000; Zbl 1020.30023)]. Studying some examples for \(A\) and \(\Omega\), the authors investigate the question whether the extremal mappings are unique or not.
