The author computes the formal Poisson cohomology of a quadratic Poisson structure on a vector space that can be transformed into diagonal form \(\sum_{i<j}a_{ij}x_i x_j \partial_{x_i}\wedge\partial_{x_j}\). This set of Poisson structures is generic among all quadratic Poisson structures as was shown by \textit{J.-P. Dufour} and \textit{A. Haraki} in [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. 312, No.~11, 137--140 (1991; Zbl 0719.58001)].
