The interesting paper under review deals with short-time heat content asymptotics for oblique boundary condition. Precisely, let \(M\) be a compact Riemannian manifold of dimension \(m\) and smooth boundary \(\partial M,\) and let \(D\) be an operator of Laplace type on a vector bundle \(V\) over \(M.\) Setting \(\nabla_m\) for the covariant differentiation in direction of the inward normal to \(\partial M\) and \(B_T\) for a tangential differential operator, the oblique boundary condition is given by \[ B\psi=(\nabla_m+B_T)\psi|_{\partial M}. \] For a given initial temperature distribution \(\varphi,\) the subsequent temperature distribution \(u=e^{-tD_B}\varphi\) is defined by \[ (\partial_t+D)u=0,\quad u|_{t=0}=\varphi,\quad Bu=0. \] The specific heat \(\rho\) is a section to the dual bundle \(\tilde V\) and the total heat energy content of \(M\) is given by \[ \beta(\varphi,\rho,D,B)(t)=\int M u(t,x)\rho(x) d\nu_M \] with integration with respect to the Riemannian volume element on \(M.\) As \(t\downarrow 0,\) there is a complete asymptotic expansion \[ \beta(\varphi,\rho,D,B)(t)\sim \sum_{n\geq 0} \beta_n(\varphi,\rho,D,B)t^{n/2}. \] The paper deals with calculation of the first five coefficients of that expansion.
