    Let \(M\) be a compact oriented smooth surface. The author defines the moduli space of \(\mathbb{RP}^2\) structures on \(M\), denoted by \(\mathbb{RP}^2(M)\). Let \(P(M)\) denote the subset of \(\mathbb{RP}^2(M)\) corresponding to the convex \(\mathbb{RP}^2\)-structures. The moduli space \(P(M)\) is an extension of the Teichmüller space \(T(M)\) of \textit{S. Wolpert} [Am. J. Math. 107, 969--997 (1985; Zbl 0578.32039)] proved that the Weil-Peterson Kähler form of \(T(M)\) of \(M\) is expressed in terms of Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates of \(T(M)\). The author proves \(P(M)\) has analogous properties. Moreover, he generalizes \(P(M)\) for a compact oriented surface \(M\) with boundary and proves that \(P(M)\) is symplectomorphic to \(\mathbb R^{16g-16}\), where \(g\) is the genus of \(M\).
