A backward three-term recurrence relation for vector valued continued fractions and its applications (Q1612316)

The present paper gives a backward three-term recurrence relation, which is a solution of an open problem in a work of \textit{P. R. Graves-Morris} [Numer. Math. 42, 331-348 (1983; Zbl 0525.41014)]. Some conclusions about the two backward successive convergents of vector valued continued fractions are established and expression for the vector valued continued fraction in series form is obained. Some theorems of the convergence of the vector valued continued fraction are proved by virtue of the recurrence relation.
