    Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^2\) be simply connected and bounded with smooth boundary \(\partial\Omega\), \(\Sigma=\partial\Omega\times (0,T)\), \(T>0\) arbitrary. The authors consider the parabolic initial-boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} & \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}=\Delta u+b_1(x)\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_1}+b_2(x)\;\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_2}\quad \text{in }\Omega\times (0,T),\\ & u|_\Sigma=f,\quad u|_{t=0}=0.\end{aligned} \] Using known facts about analytic semigroups and Dirichlet to Neumann maps, the authors prove that if \[ (b_1,b_2)\in L^p(\Omega)\times L^p(\Omega),\quad p>2, \] and \(f\) has a special structure, specified in the paper, then \(b_1\) and \(b_2\) are uniquely determined by \(\partial u/\partial \nu|_\Sigma\).
