Let \( \mathcal U^{n} := \big\{ z=(z^{\prime},z_{n+1}) \in \mathbb C^{n+1}: \text{Im } z_{n+1} > |z^{\prime}|^2 \big\} \) be the Siegel upper half space. It is known that the Bergman kernel on \(\mathcal U^{n}\) can be written as \[ K(z,w)= \frac {(n+1)!}{4\pi^{n+1}}\, h(z, w) ^{-n-2}, \] where \( h(z, w):=\frac {i}{2} (\overline{{w}_{n+1}}-z_{n+1}) - z^{\prime} \overline{w^{\prime}}. \) The author first gives two-sided bounds for the \(L^p\) operator norm of the Bergman projection over \(\mathcal U^{n}\), \(1 < p < \infty\). To obtain such estimates, he considers, for \(\alpha>-1\), the following integral operator \[ (T_{\alpha} f) (z) := \frac {(n+1)!}{4\pi^{n+1}} \int\limits_{\mathcal U^n} \frac { h(w,w)^{\alpha}} {\left| h(z,w)\right|^{n+2+\alpha}} f(w) dV_w, \] which is known to be bounded from \(L^p(\mathcal U^{n})\) to itself, and evaluates the precise \(L^p\) operator norm \(\|T_{\alpha}\|_p.\) In particular, \(\|T_{0}\|_p\) dominates the \(L^p\) operator norms of the Bergman projection, whose lower bound \[ \frac {\Gamma\left(\frac {n+2}{p}\right) \Gamma\left(\frac {n+2}{q}\right)}{ \Gamma^2 \left(\frac {n+2}{2}\right)} \] is also obtained by the author and believed to be sharp. Moreover, it is observed that the above \(L^p\) operator norm of the Bergman projection over \(\mathcal U^{n}\) is not greater than the \(L^p\) operator norm of the Cauchy-Szegő projection over \(b \mathcal U^{n-1}\), which facilitates the study of the latter.
