In view of a classification of folded symplectic toric manifolds, the author proves a uniqueness result in the case of compact orientable four-dimensional manifolds. A folded symplectic form on a \(2n\)-dimensional manifold \(M\) is a \(2\)-form \(\omega\) such that \(\omega^n\) is transverse to the zero section of the orientation bundle, and \(i^*\omega^{n-1}\) is non-vanishing on the zero locus \(Z:=(\omega^n)^{-1}(0)\), where \(i: Z \hookrightarrow M\) denotes the inclusion of the hypersurface \(Z\). Every even-dimensional sphere and every orientable four-manifold admits a folded symplectic form. A folded Hamiltonian action of a Lie group \(G\) on a folded symplectic manifold is an action that admits a moment map. A folded symplectic toric manifold is a compact connected \(2n\)-dimensional folded symplectic manifold with a folded Hamiltonian effective action of an \(n\)-dimensional torus \(\mathcal{T}\). The moment map \(\Phi : M \to \mathfrak{t}^*\), where \(\mathfrak{t}\) is the Lie algebra of \(\mathcal{T}\), descends to define the orbital moment map \(\underline{\Phi}: M / \mathcal{T} \to \mathfrak{t}^*\). In [\textit{A. Cannas da Silva} et al., Int. Math. Res. Not. 2011, No. 18, 4252--4293 (2011; Zbl 1236.53062)], a classification is given for the so-called origami manifolds, which provide a subclass of folded symplectic toric manifolds. The main result is stated in Theorem 1.6. Let \((M,\omega, \Phi)\) and \((M',\omega',\Phi')\) be two compact orientable four-dimensional folded symplectic toric manifolds. Suppose that \(H^2(M/\mathcal{T};\mathbb Z)=0\). Then, if there exists a diffeomorphism \(h : M / \mathcal{T} \to M' / \mathcal{T'}\) of manifolds with corners such that \(h^*\underline{\Phi'}=\underline{\Phi}\), then \(M\) and \(M'\) are isomorphic. Example 1.7 illustrates that the moment images are not enough to differentiate between folded symplectic toric manifolds, so one has to consider the orbital moment map. The result is obtained, first, establishing a condition under which symplectic toric manifolds are locally isomorphic (Theorem 2.13) and then passing from local results to the global setting.
