On the accelerated modified Newton-HSS method for systems of nonlinear equations (Q1625755)

The authors propose an accelerated modified Newton-HSS method for solving systems of nonlinear equations with non-Hermitian positive-definite Jacobian matrices by making appropriate shifts on the Jacobian matrices of the nonlinear systems in order to control the modified Newton steps. Local convergence of the method under suitable conditions is established. Some numerical experiments are presented to illustrate that the proposed method is more efficient than the previously known modified Newton Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting method.
