The paper addresses a the nonlinear Schrödinger type equation with self-focusing term \(|u|^{4/3}u\) in five-dimensional space. This non-integrable equation admits an exact weakly localized soliton solution \(u=(1+r^2/15)^{-3/2}\) where \(r\) is the radial coordinate. This solution has a finite (converging) norm. The soliton can be set in motion with an arbitrary velocity by means of the Galilean transform. By means of rigorous analysis, which includes the consideration of asymptotic fields and the use of the method of energy channels, the paper produces a proof of the fact that collisions between moving solitons of this type are inelastic, i.e., the colliding solitons survive, but change their parameters.
