Using ``reduction mod \(p\)'' from representations for Lusztig quantum group \(U_\zeta\) at a \(p^r\)-th root of unity to the representation for semisimple algebraic groups of characteristic \(p\), the author studies the relationship between \(\mathrm{Ext}^n_G(V, W)\) and \(\mathrm{Ext}^n_{U_\zeta}(V', W')\), where \(V\), \(W\) are obtained from \(V'\), \(W'\) by reduction \(\bmod p\). She gets the existence of many new extension classes and homomorphisms between rational \(G\)-modules by using the known results of \(\mathrm{Ext}^n\)-spaces for Lusztig quantum groups. As an application, she gets a new proof of \textit{J. Franklin}'s [J. Algebra 112, No. 1, 58--85 (1988; Zbl 0644.17003)] result on certain homomorphisms between two Weyl modules.
