The authors establish a correspondence between affine special Kähler (ASK) manifolds and projective special Kähler (PSK) manifolds of the same dimension, by using a conification procedure which maps ASK manifolds to conical ASK manifolds. The main application of the mentioned correspondence is a one-parameter deformation of the supergravity \(r\)-map. The authors prove that the ASK manifolds in the image of the rigid \(r\)-map are mapped to one-parameter deformations of PSK manifolds in the image of the supergravity \(r\)-map. On the other hand, they show that ASK manifolds with quadratic prepotential are mapped to one-parameter families of PSK manifolds with quadratic prepotential. Another geometric object analyzed in the paper under review is the lift of the supergravity \(r\)-map to the scalar manifolds of the associated superconformal vector multiplets, which is obtained by composing the new conification map with the rigid \(r\)-map. The authors relate the completeness of the deformed supergravity \(r\)-map metric to the completeness of the undeformed metric and the sign of the deformation parameter.
