The authors consider equations of geophysical hydrodynamics for surface gravity waves interacting with a subsurface current. It is known that surface waves may exist in a state trapped by the underlying current. In this work, the equations retain full terms accounting for the Coriolis force, in the Northern or Southern hemisphere. The objective is to investigate how a range of parameters of the underlying current, which admit the trapping solutions for the waves, is affected by the Coriolis terms. It is concluded that the effect of the latter terms is quite essential.
