In the paper under review, the authors investigate clopen topologies on a nonempty set through operators induced by functions. The authors characterize the clopen topologies on a nonempty set as those that arise from a closure operator induced by certain functions defined on the set and with values in some discrete space. More precisely, they are weak topologies determined by surjective functions defined on the set and with values in discrete spaces. Also, they show that a topology admits a clopen base if and only if it is a weak topology determined by a family of functions with values in discrete spaces. This article contains interesting results and these results can be of interest for both experienced researchers and novel researchers.
