The authors prove that a regular matrix method \(A=( a_{nk}) \) cannot sum almost every subsequence of a divergent sequence. In other words, each divergent sequence \(x=( x_{k}) \) has a subsequence \(y\) that is not \(A\)-summable and has an index set \(S\) with positive density \(d( S) :=\limsup_{n}\frac{1}{n}\operatorname{card}\{ k\leq n\mid k\in S\}\). This result was proved for the case when \(A\) is the Cesàro method \(C_{1}\) and \(x\) is bounded by \textit{C. Stuart} [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 44, No. 1, 289--295 (2014; Zbl 1298.40007)].
