The goal of the paper is a careful explanation of the ergodicity criterion for a certain class of geodesic flows on incomplete negatively curved Riemannian manifolds. The proof follows the one in [\textit{K. Burns} et al., Ann. Math. (2) 175, No. 2, 835--908 (2012; Zbl 1254.37005)] and is based on the Hopf's argument. The geodesic flows here considered have certain polynomially controlled quantities that allow the authors to use a Katok-Strelcyn generalization of the Pesin stable manifold theorem. The authors explain the geometry of the involved manifold, discuss the hyperbolicity of the flows and the existence of stable and unstable manifolds with absolutely continuity properties. They finish proving ergodicity and mixing properties. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1395.37001].
