A complete Boolean algebra $\mathcal{B}$ is called: \begin{itemize} \item \textit{a measure algebra}, if it atmits a strictly positive $\sigma$-additive probability measure; \item \textit{a Maharam algebra}, if it atmits a positive continuous submeasure. \end{itemize} Clearly, any measure algebra is a Maharam algebra. One of the most well-known problems of the abstract measure theory is the question whether every Maharam algebra is a measure algebra. This problem is equivalent to the question whether every exhaustive submeasure on $\mathcal{B}$ is uniformly exhaustive. In 2005 \textit{M. Talagrand} [Ann. Math. (2) 168, No. 3, 981--1009 (2008; Zbl 1185.28002)] solved the Maharam problem. Namely, he constructed an example of exchausive submeasure which is not uniformly exhaustive. To each exhaustive submeasure one can canonically assign a countable ordinal, its exhaustive rank. In the paper under review authors generalize Talagrand's construction and show that there are Maharam algebras of arbitrary high countable exhaustivity rank. This generalization is based on the notion of the \textit{admissible norm}.
