A finitistic space is a paracompact Hausdorff space with each open covering having a finite dimensional open refinement, where the dimension of a covering is one less than the maximum number of members of the covering which intersect non-trivially. Let \(X\) be a finitistic space with mod 2 cohomology algebra isomorphic to that of \(\mathbb FP^m\times\mathbb S^3\), where \(\mathbb F=\mathbb R,\mathbb C\) or \(\mathbb H\). Let \((X,E,\pi,B)\) be a fibre bundle and \((\mathbb R^k,E',\pi',B)\) be a \(k\)-dimensional real vector bundle with a fibre preserving involution such that the action on both \(E\) and \(E' \setminus \{0\}\) is free, where \(\{0\}\) stands for the zero section of the vector bundle. The authors determine lower bounds for the cohomological dimension of the zero set \(f^{-1}(\{0\})\) of a fibre preserving \(\mathbb Z_2\)-equivariant map \(f:E \to E'\). The techniques used are quite standard, and the results are analogous to the ones available in the literature for similar classes of manifolds.
