Finite subsets \(E\) of the Euclidean plane \({\mathbb R}^2\) having the discrete Pompieu property with respect to an isometry (similarity) are considered (i.e., for which, whenever \(f : {\mathbb R}^2 \rightarrow {\mathbb C}\) is such that the sum of the values of \(f\) on any congruent (similar) copy of E is zero, then f is identically zero). The weighted version of the discrete Pompeiu property is considered. The authors show that every finite linear set with commensurable distances has the weighted discrete Pompeiu property with respect to isometries, and every finite set has the weighted discrete Pompeiu property with respect to similarities. The obtained results are improved the results of the papers [\textit{C. De Groote} and \textit{M. Duerinckx}, Am. Math. Mon. 119, No. 7, 603--605 (2012; Zbl 1264.51008)] and [\textit{R. Katz} et al., Am. Math. Mon. 121, No. 7, 610--618 (2014; Zbl 1306.05064)].
