Let \(G\) be a reductive Lie group, consider a minimal parabolic subgroup \(P=MAN\) and suppose that \(M\) is metabelian. In this case, a construction of the Plancherel formula and the Fourier inversion formula for \(P\) and a principle series representation of \(G\) are given.
