In an earlier paper with \textit{Y. Huang} [J. Symplectic Geom. 15, No. 1, 51--90 (2017; Zbl 1380.53098)], the author defined a canonical absolute grading on Heegaard Floer homology by homotopy classes of oriented 2-plane fields. Similarly, \textit{M. Hutchings} defined an absolute grading on embedded contact homology (ECH) [in: New perspectives and challenges in symplectic field theory. Dedicated to Yakov Eliashberg on the occasion of his 60th birthday. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS). 263--297 (2009; Zbl 1207.57045)]. Recently, \textit{V. Colin} et al., showed that Heegaard Floer homology and ECH are isomorphic [``The equivalence of Heegaard Floer homology and embedded contact homology via open book decompositions I, II, and III'', Preprint, \url{arXiv:1208.1074}, \url{arXiv:1208.1077}, \url{arXiv:1208.1526}]. In this paper the author proves that the absolute gradings on Heegaard Floer homology and ECH defined earlier are preserved under the isomorphism of [Colin et al., loc. cit.]. Let \(Y\) be a closed, connected, oriented 3-manifold, and let \(\text{Vect}(Y)\) be the set of homotopy classes of nonvanishing vector fields on \(Y\). For \(\rho \in \text{Vect}(Y)\), let \(HF^+_\rho(-Y) \subseteq HF^+(-Y)\) be the submodule of elements of grading \(\rho\), where \(-Y\) denotes \(Y\) with the opposite orientation. The main theorem in the paper is as follows. Theorem 1.1. Let \(\Phi:HF^+(-Y) \rightarrow ECH(Y)\) be the isomorphism constructed by Colin et al. Then \(\Phi\) maps \(HF^+_\rho(-Y)\) to \(ECH_\rho(Y)\) for all \(\rho \in \text{Vect}(Y)\).
