    In continuation to the article by the same author [Rev. Colomb. Mat. 49, No. 2, 235--259 (2015; Zbl 1362.14011)], where a family of spin Lie groups \(G\) with an outer automorphism of order three (triality automorphism) is constructed and the action of the group \(\text{Out}\left( G \right)\) on the moduli space of principal \(G\)-bundles is investigated, in the present article the author extends the study for the case of triality automorphisms on the moduli space of \(\text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C\right)\)-Higgs bundles. A well-defined action of the group \(\text{Out}\left( G \right)\) on the moduli space of \(G\)-Higgs bundles \(\mathcal M\left(G \right)\) is given as follows: For \(\left( E,\varphi \right)\) a \(G\)-Higgs bundle, \(\sigma \in \text{Out}\left( G \right)\) and \(A\in \text{Aut}\left( G \right)\) representing \(\sigma \), define \(\sigma \left( E,\varphi \right)=\left( A\left( E \right),dA\left( \varphi \right) \right)\), where \(A\left( E \right)\) denotes the complex manifold \(E\) equipped with the right-action of \(G\) described by \(e\cdot g=eA^{-1}\left( g \right)\) for \(g\in G\), \(e\in A\left( E \right)\); and \(dA:H^0\left( X,E\left( \mathfrak g \right)\otimes K \right)\to H^0\left( X,E\left( \mathfrak g\right)\otimes K \right)\) is induced by the map \(E\left( \mathfrak g \right)\to E\left( \mathfrak g \right)\) taking the differential on each fibre. It is proven that this action preserves the (poly)stability condition. Another action on \(\mathcal M\left( G \right)\) is the well-known \(\mathbb C^*\)-action defined by \(\lambda \left( E,\varphi \right)=\left( E,\lambda \varphi \right)\), which also preserves (poly)stability. The combination of the preceding two actions gives a well-defined action of \(\text{Out}\left( G \right)\times \mathbb C^*\) on \(\mathcal M\left( G \right)\): \[ \left( A,\lambda \right)\left( E,\varphi \right)=\left( A\left( E \right),\lambda dA\left( \varphi \right) \right). \] Attention is restricted to elements \(\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)\) of order three in \(\text{Out}\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C \right) \right)\times\mathbb C^*\) for \(n\equiv 0\,\text{mod}8\), that means for \(\tau \) a triality automorphism of \(\text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C \right)\) and \(\lambda \) a primitive cubic root of unity. For the action of such elements \(\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)\) with \(\tau \neq 1\), the subspace of fixed points \(\mathcal M^{\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)}\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C\right) \right)\) in \(\mathcal M\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C\right) \right)\) is described as follows: \[ \mathcal M_*^{\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)}\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C \right) \right)\subseteq \widetilde{\mathcal M_\lambda^2}\left( \text{Fix}\left( \tau \right) \right)\subseteq \mathcal M^{\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)}\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C\right) \right), \] where \(\mathcal M_*^{\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)}\left( \text{Spin}\left( n,\mathbb C\right) \right)\) stands for the subset of stable and simple fixed points, while \(\mathcal M_{\lambda}\left( H \right)\) is the moduli space of polystable \(H\)-Higgs pairs for \(\varphi \in H^0\left( X,E\left(\mathfrak h_\lambda\right)\otimes K \right)\). For the special case of \(\text{Spin}\left( 8,\mathbb{C} \right)\), the author proves in particular that: \[ \mathcal M^{\left( \tau ,\lambda \right)}\left( \text{Spin}\left( 8,\mathbb{C} \right) \right)=\widetilde{\mathcal M_\lambda^2}\left( G_2 \right)\cup \widetilde{\mathcal M_\lambda^2}\left( \text{PSL}\left( 3,\mathbb C \right) \right). \] Recall that for \(H\) a connected subgroup of \(\text{Spin}\left( 8,\mathbb{C} \right)\), it is \(H\cong G_2\) or \(H\cong \text{PSL}\left( 3,\mathbb{C} \right)\). A description of the stability conditions for \(\left(G_2,V_7\right)\)-, as well as for \(\left( \text{PSL}\left( 3,\mathbb C\right),\text{Sy}\text{m}^3\mathbb C^3\right)\)- and \(\left( \text{PSL}\left( 3,\mathbb C\right),\text{Sy}\text m^3\left( \mathbb C^3\right)^*\right)\)-Higgs pairs is provided, where \(V_7\) denotes the fundamental 7-dimensional representation of \(G_2\). Lastly, the author studies the maps \(\mathcal M_{\lambda}\left(G_2\right)\to \mathcal M\left( \text{Spin}\left( 8,\mathbb C \right) \right)\) and \(\mathcal M_{\lambda}\left( \text{PSL}\left( 3,\mathbb C\right) \right)\to \mathcal M\left( \text{Spin}\left( 8,\mathbb C \right) \right)\), for a primitive cubic root of unity \(\lambda \).
