In this paper a conjecture posed in [\textit{A. Medvedev} and \textit{T. Scanlon}, Ann. Math. (2) 179, No. 1, 81--177 (2014; Zbl 1347.37145)] is studied. It is proven for endomorphisms of $\mathbb{G}_a^k\times\mathbb{G}_m^l$ where $\mathbb{G}_a^k$ is the additive group of a finite-dimensional $\mathbb{K}$-vector space with $\mathbb{K}$ an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 and $\mathbb{G}_m^l$ an algebraic torus. This conjecture is born from another one formulated by \textit{S.-W. Zhang} [Surv. Differ. Geom. 10, 381--430 (2006; Zbl 1207.37057)] in the 1990s, which has been widely studied in the literature and proved for some particular cases. The proof of the main theorem, although long, can be easily understood.
