Let \(S\) be a closed orientable surface and let \(V \subset S\) be a non-empty finite set. A hyperbolic polyhedral metric \(d\) on \((S,V)\) is given by a triangulation of \(S\), with \(V\) as its set of vertices, such that (i) each triangle is a copy of a hyperbolic finite triangle, and (ii) the common edges of two adjacent triangles have the same hyperbolic length. The discrete curvature of \(d\) is the map \(K:V \to (-\infty, 2\pi)\), defined as \(K(v)=2\pi- \text{cone angle at }v\). This satisfies the Gauss-Bonnet identity \(\sum_{v \in V}K(v)=2\pi \chi(S) + \text{Area}(d)\), where \(\text{Area}(d)\) is the area of the hyperbolic structure on \(S\) induced by \(d\). In the article, for two hyperbolic polyhedral metrics on \((S,V)\), a concept is defined to be discrete conformal; this was already stated by the authors in the previous paper [J. Differ. Geom. 109, No. 2, 223--256 (2018; Zbl 1396.30008)] for the case of Euclidean structures. The main result is the following. Assume \(d\) is a hyperbolic polyhedral metric on \((S,V)\). If \(K^{*}:V \to (-\infty,2\pi)\) satisfies \(\sum_{v \in V} K^{*}(v) >2 \pi \chi(S)\), then there exists a unique hyperbolic polyhedral metric \(d'\) on \((S,V)\), which is discrete conformal to \(d\), whose discrete curvature is \(K^{*}\). The authors follow similar arguments as done in the above-mentioned paper.
