The centralizer lattice of a group \(G\) is the set of all centralizers of all of the subgroups of \(G\). This is a partially ordered set whose largest element is \(G\) and smallest element is the center \(Z(G)\). The author makes the easy observation that the centralizer lattice is never a union of two non-trivial intervals \([Z(G), M]\cup [N, G]\) and uses this remark to prove the known result that the finite generalized quaternion groups are not capable groups.
