For a finite Galois extension \(K/Q\) with group \(G\) let \(A\) be the multiplicative semigroup of Artin \(L\)-functions associated with \(K\). For \(s_0\neq1\) denote by \(\mathrm{Hol}(s_0)\) the subsemigroup of \(A\) consisting of all \(L\)-functions holomorphic at \(s_0\). The author shows that if \(G\) is almost monomial, then one has \(\mathrm{Hol}(s_0)=A\) if and only if the semigroup \(\mathrm{Hol}(s_0)\) is factorial, and conjectures that this holds for all groups \(G\). Earlier (Theorem 3 in [J. Number Theory 128, No. 11, 2861--2864 (2008; Zbl 1176.11058)]) he established this for \(G = A_5\).
