The continued fraction representation of real numbers is very well known and intensively studied in number theory. Parallel to it, in the paper under review the author introduces and studies the continued logarithm representation of real numbers to base \(m\) (for \(m \geq 3\)). He shows that all real numbers in \([0,1]\) have a continued logarithm representation and except to a countable set this representation is unique (Theorem 1), and also proves some results on the occurrence and on the frequency of digits with respect to such representation (see, e.g., Theorems 2 and 6).
