The authors of this interesting and carefully written paper first establish a cone compression-expansion fixed point theorem of Krasnosel'skiĭ type for certain discontinuous operators. Then they use it to study (via Green's functions and Hammerstein integral operators) the existence of positive solutions to second-order differential Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems with discontinuous nonlinearities.
