Variational problems involving a Caputo-type fractional derivative (Q1673881)

The paper is devoted to several problems of calculus of variations that are dependent upon a Lagrange function on a Caputo-type fractional derivative. This type of operators is a generalization of the Caputo and Caputo-Hadamard fractional derivatives. The author obtains a necessary condition that every optimal solution must verify, as well as transversality conditions for the case of free boundary problems. In addition, the author studies the Legendre problem, the Herglotz problem, and problems with additional restrictions like the isoperimetric and holonomic constraints.
