Let \(R\) be a \(2\times 2\) rotation matrix such that \(R^n\) is not the unit matrix for any \(n\), and let \(r\in (0,1)\). The author considers an iterated system of functions \(\varphi_{i}(x) = rRx+a_i\), \(x\in {\mathbb R}^2\), with the strong separation condition, and a self-similar measure \(\mu =\sum\limits_{i\in I}p_{i}\varphi_{i}\mu\). The main subject of the paper is the projection \(P_u\), \(u\in S\), where \(S\) is the unit circle, and \(P_u\) is the orthogonal projection onto the line spanned by \(u\). The main result consists in the existence of a value \(r\), a matrix \(R\) and an iterated system of functions \(\{\varphi_i\}\) such that each of the sets \(\{u\in S: P_{u}\mu \text{ is singular}\}\) and \(\{u\in S:\text{the slice }\mu_{u,x} \text{ is discrete for }\mu\text{-almost every } x\in {\mathbb R}^2\}\) contains a dense \(G_\delta\) subset of \(S\).
