The authors of the article under review consider the problem of rational approximation of functions with logarithmic singularities. They consider functions on the unit circle with finitely many logarithmic singularities and study the asymptotics of the deviations of the function from the set of rational functions of degree at most \(n\) as \(n\to\infty\) in the BMO norm. The authors use the Adamyan-Arov-Krein theorem that expresses such deviations in terms of the singular values of the corresponding Hankel operators.
