A vector bundle \(E\) on a polarized projective variety \((X,\mathcal{O}(1))\) is said to be Arithmetically Cohen-Macaulay (ACM fir short) if \(H^i(E(n))=0\) for all \(n\) and \(0<i<\dim X\). For \(X\), the projective space with the usual polarization, it is known that only such bundles are direct sum of line bundles by a theorem of \textit{G. Horrocks} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 14, 689--713 (1964; Zbl 0126.16801)]. If \(\dim X=1\), the condition is vacuous and so every bundle is ACM. So, one of the most interesting cases to study are surfaces in 3-space. For smooth quadrics, a result of \textit{D. Eisenbud} and \textit{J. Herzog} [Math. Ann. 280, No. 2, 347--352 (1988; Zbl 0616.13011)] says that there are only finitely many such, up to twists. On the other hand, for cubic surfaces already there are families of any dimension as shown by \textit{M. Casanellas} and \textit{R. Hartshorne} [J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 13, No. 3, 709--731 (2011; Zbl 1245.14044)]. In this paper, the authors completely classify all such bundles of rank 2 on a smooth quartic hypersurface in \(\mathbb{P}^3\) with \(c_1=2, c_2=8\).
