Modernity of Halphen's variations on a theme of Monge (Q1676506)

In the paper under review, the authors, after giving a short but nice introduction to the work of Georges-Henri Halphen (1844--1889) on the theme of what is called nowadays infinitely near points in the projective space, construct a \(\mathbb Z/3 \mathbb Z\)-slice to the natural action of \(\mathrm{PGL}(V)\) on the variety of smooth arcs in the projective space \(\mathbb P(V)\) and put it in the perspective of the Halphen's works. As an application, they determine the equation of the related Monge hypersurface.
